Run DBAN from a Flash Drive: In the following tutorial, we show you how we created a DBAN USB Flash Drive from Windows using our third party Universal USB Installer. Darik's Boot and Nuke (DBAN) is a simple bootable data destruction tool created by Darik Horn. It can be used to securely wipe an entire hard drive or an attached external disk (IDE or SCSI), completely deleting all contents of the disk. Upon completion, you should be able to run DBAN from your USB device.

DBAN will not load using Bootable USB or CD 3 months ago M. Created ticket #42. DBAN 2.3.0 or 2.2.8 will not load using Bootable USB 3 months ago M. Posted a comment on discussion Help. Used RUFUS 3.1.1 to create a UEFI Bootable USB. Tried both the Latest version of DBAN(2.3.0)and 2.2.8, and DBAN simply won’t start. DBAN prevents or thoroughly hinders all known techniques of hard disk forensic analysis. This version of Darik's Boot And Nuke is for use on CD and DVD media. The CD drive on the Mac is broken, so I have been trying to do it with a bootable USB. No matter what I try, I cannot get the USB drive to show in Startup Manager. This is what I've got so far: DBAN 2.3 iso downloaded; UNetbootin to make the bootable image.

How To Use Dban Disk
Notes: The DBAN autonuke feature may also Nuke the Flash Drive (and as usual, any other drive it detects). To prevent DBAN's autonuke feature from wiping the thumb drive, pendrivelinux subscriber Lee Sonko suggests the following:
'Remove your thumb drive after dban has loaded, but before it has started wiping drives.'
